Quessi started having her pups at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10th, 2008.By 7:00 a.m. she had four babies: one marked like her, one brown with white tips, one gray, and one black.
Each one of them started nursing almost immediately.

Quessi's hormones and Mother Nature must be kicking in today. Emy told me that Quessi tried to bite her and Marlie when they tried to pet the pups this morning. She growled at me a little later when I went to say hi to her! I talked to her and reminded her that I am her Dad, then I fed her some oatmeal and peanut butter Deb made her. She seemed to remember who I was and got out of the "nest" to eat and visit with me.
A while later she came out of our bedroom on her own and cuddled in my lap like she did before having the pups. She's still my little baby! Each one of them started nursing almost immediately.
I called my grandson Daniel last night to tell him the puppie's pictures were on line so he could see them. He kept asking me what their names were and didn't understand why we hadn't named them all yet. I jokingly said maybe we should name one of them Daniel and he instantly replied, "Grandpa, that is a GOOD idea!". Mandi insisted we named one "Pico" to go with Quessi. Marlie is going to keep the little black one and she has already named it "Rocky". We'll leave the honor of naming the last one to Deb's dad, since that one is going to be his when he comes down in February.
Somehow I think we'll be forced to have one more litter so we can name pups after ALL the grandkids!
Finally... a picture with their little faces in it!
They all have their eyes open now! The little rascals have all crawled out of their "nest" and gone exploring. Fortunately Quessi helped me find them all.
