Lucy and her famous husband, The Slapper

Lucy Matos and Emy We've known Mike and Lucy for almost 20 years now. They live at the end of our street. The 4 of us have seen a lot of change in our neighborhood over the years but one thing that hasn't changed a whole lot is our friendship. We hit it off when we first met and we're still very close after all these years.

The World Famous Slapper Deb and Lucy spend a lot of time together, going on walks, very early almost every morning. Mike and I have a lot in common, both of us enjoying airbrushing, cars and motorcycles. Unfortunately Mike has a Harley and I have a real bike, but we still enjoy riding together and I hope someday he'll see the light and buy a BMW.

We exchange gifts at Christmas, watch movies and eat pizza on Friday nights, have cookouts in our backyard (Lucy and I love "diesel dogs!) and enjoy campfires on those few "cold" days we have here in the Florida winters.

Breakfast on the beach. The 4 of us rode the bikes up the Ft. Pierce to the U.S. Navy SEAL museum on Veteran's Day last, got a hotel for the night then rode down to Stuart for an airshow the following morning. We stopped at a real neat little cafe right on the beach on our way to Stuart (thanks John Schick for telling us about the cafe), and then rode on to the show.

Slap eating breakfast on the way to the airshow. Lucy got a little nervous riding in fairly congested, fast moving traffic on the way home and we had to stop at a rest area on the turnpike to let her calm down. Hopefully she'll get over her fear of high speed touring and get back in the saddle so we can do some more overnighters together. Jumping on the bikes and getting away for a couple of days is something good for the soul, and I am really looking forward to doing it again as soon as we can.

Lucy got bored riding on the back of a Harley so she decided to try riding in the back of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter.   Taking a break from the intense sun and heat.
Half-Track   Formation Loop
Slap got a little frazzled from the heat and sun. I had to explain to him that this was an Army half-track and that his Harley is black and has only 2 wheels.   I just threw this one in to prove we really did go to an airshow.

WWII BeemerMy injured neck is improving slowly, although I turned my head tonight, heard a "crack", felt something "pop" in there and the pain is back again tonight. I immediately took a muscle relaxer and put the heating pad on it. Hopefully it will clear up quickly. Once I get the okay from my doctor, we're going to break out the bike and twist Slap's arm until he agrees to to grab Lu and go for another ride with us! By the way, the picture on the right is a REAL motorcycle... A BMW!
