Labor Day weekend... 4 days off!
Deb and I love having company over for dinner, so we invited several people to spend Friday
evening with us. Just by chance it turned out that 4 of the 5 people we invited were Puerto
Rican, thus the name of this page.
Deb whipped up some Spanish food, homemade Salsa, To-Stones and guacamole. We also had her famous
Lipton Onion Soup Bergers and of course we had "diesel dogs" for my very good friend, Mrs. Slapper.
She is one of the few people that appreciate a well burnt hotdog.
I hooked up an XM Satellite antenna and the GPS from the bike to our Dolby 7.1 sound system and had
Spanish music playing in the background, uniterrupted by commercials. My neighbors surely thought I'd
lost my mind, but I have never been one to be overly concerned about what the neighbors think.
The food was great (as is always the case when Deb cooks) and the fellowship with such good
friends was even better.
I told Chryssi she was the "token white girl", and she didn't seem to mind at all. She was her
usual outgoing self and added to the fun.
I think everyone had a good time, even if they didn't come out back and marvel over the
Japanese garden I'd worked so hard on. Slap and Lucy Lu left a little early, but the fun
and games continued. Yvonne (Y-Lo) brought out a game called "Taboo", and we formed teams
to play. Vic and I against Deb and Chryssi. Poor Yvonne got quite a workout running around the
table showing us the "secret" word we had to play with. I hate to admit it, but Vic and I
got our clocks cleaned by the girls.
I had a blast and look forward to the next holiday we can all spend together.
