Well, our kitchen cabinets arrived today! Unfortunately, with my neck problems I am not able to do much in the way of installation, however, this cabinet goes from floor to ceiling and all we had to do was slide it into place. We had to see what it would look like.

Even though the cabinet is just sitting there, not actually installed, you can tell, Debbie is very happy. When she's happy, I'm happy so this whole thing is well worth the expense and trouble.

With my supervision and Deb, my daughters and Kevin my son-in-law doing the installation, we're making progress on the cabinets.

The new cabinets are 42" tall, the old ones were only 30" tall so we picked up an extra foot all along the top. It was well worth all the problems involved in taking down the old drop ceiling. It not only looks a lot bigger and more contemporary, it allowed the installation of the taller cabinets.

Now she's going to have to buy more stuff to fill up the cabinets!

They installed the Pantry and cabinet over the refrigerator.

Old cabinets are gone and Marlie is removing the old "brick".

All the brick is gone and the wall has been covered with a thin coat of drywall mud.

The rectangular hole below the center cabinet is where an electrical outlet will be installed for the new microwave oven.

Microwave has been installed. We owe a big "Thanks" to Slapper for his help installing the microwave.

We found the microwave we wanted on sale at BestBuy and saved over $200.00

Now we have to hurry and finish the rest of the project. The new cabinets and microwave make the rest of the kitchen look even worse than it did before we started.

Deb and Emy started installing the tile floor today. This is probably the least enjoyable part of the project so far.

Another day of laying tile. They're about as far as they can go until the old base cabinets are gone.

Most of the base cabinets have been installed.

Tile floor is almost finished. Just has to be grouted.

Once I have my surgery and recover, we're going to have a party and make dinner for everyone that helped with the kitchen!

Times like these really make me appreciate my family and friends!
